Dr. Emily Gannaway
Dr. Gannaway became a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in 2015 followed by graduating with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and from the Obstetric & Midwifery Program in 2016.
Her journey to natural medicine was not unlike that of many doctors. She admired the way doctors helped people. After an accident, Dr. Gannaway faced severe injuries. Through this experience she learned the realities and limitations of standard medical care with treatment for pain, immobility, autoimmune disease, hormonal issues, and degenerative changes. When she found out about naturopathic medicine, she was excited to embark in a program that would cover so much of what is lacking in typical care while still requiring thorough training in all areas required to become a primary care doctor. The way acupuncture could be used both with mechanical strategies and in complex ways to simply improve ones health led her to becoming an Acupuncturist. The wonders of the formation of life led her to complete an obstetrics & midwifery program that allowed her to see the struggles of women’s later phases in life. This led to her completing numerous trainings to let her help women maintain and get back their body at whatever phase of their journey she meets them. Her 2.5 year externship in pediatrics indulged her fascination with the simplicity of fixing an issue at it’s very start, how these pathologies develop over the years, and how to backtrack towards a solution. She is excited about meeting someone where they are at with whichever part of the process of the pathology or prevention someone is at with anything from optimal fetal development, optimal development, heavy periods, pelvic pain/dysfunction, preconception, optimal adjunctive pregnancy care, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and menopause. She is passionate about improving the availability of optimal treatment strategies for recovering from pain and immobility issues. She has completed many years of training in musculoskeletal injections and intravenous therapy. She has been practicing shockwave therapy since 2018 with a unique technique and protocol that allows for more comfort while enhancing results. She is trained in numerous physical medicine therapies, nutrient therapy, herbal medicine, optimizing lab results, regenerative medicine, physiotherapy, and Oriental medicine.
She was lucky enough to find these therapies as they opened her up to the potential of healing as she has seen so many patients be able to overcome issues they thought would be permanent. While we can’t always prevent future damage to our body, as much as we can, we can work on repairing and safe guarding against future injuries. She is ever continuing to learn whether it be reading studies for hours on end or completing trainings. She is passionate about regenerative medicine as it continues to expand and root cause medicine to improve possible outcomes.
She found that with anti-aging strategies, we can work on evening out all aspects of our body and improving our enjoyment of life. Dr. Gannaway is passionate about combined therapies to optimize results, comfort, energy, and ability to continue to participate in one’s normal daily life tasks while getting better.
On her off time, she loves strength training, hydrotherapy, enjoying the wonders of herbs & food, and long walks with her dog Tito.
